Chairman of the Board

Dr. Sarah Holt earned a PhD is in Public Policy Analysis and Administration with a healthcare emphasis from St. Louis University, she has a MA in Counseling from Southeast Missouri State University, and an undergraduate degree in education.

Sarah has over 30 years’ experience as a medical practice executive. She has been a national, state, and local leader in professional organizations such as Medical Group Management Association (MGMA) and the American College of Medical Practice Executives (ACMPE). She has done extensive research on how staff members make decisions in organizations for which they work and how those decisions impact organizations complexity influences organizations. Sarah is an author of professional books and has done a wide-range of speaking nationally on healthcare management topics to audiences of physicians, management, and staff. She has also authored and facilitated on-line classes for the leading professional organization in her field, MGMA. Sarah is a Fellow in the American College of Medical Practice Executives (FACMPE) and is a past chair of the ACMPE Board of Directors. In 2019, Sarah was awarded the Lifetime Achievement Award, the highest national honor given by MGMA.

Sarah taught at the graduate level at Saint Louis University in the Health Management and Policy and the Executive Masters Healthcare programs. She was also a full time faculty at Southeast Missouri State University where she participated in starting the under-graduate and graduate Healthcare Administration degree programs.

She is eager to lead the Kellerman Foundation as it expands its offerings to the greater community.

Dr. Frank Nickell

Dr. Frank Nickell was the assistant director of the State Historical Society of Missouri Research Center in Cape Girardeau, and an emeritus faculty member of the Department of History at Southeast Missouri State University.

Dr. Nickell has received numerous teaching and service awards, including the Missouri Governor’s Award for Excellence in Teaching, Missouri Humanities Council Acorn Award for outstanding service, the Jonas Viles Award from the Missouri State Archives for significant contribution to the preservation of Missouri’s heritage, and in 2005, was designated as an “outstanding Missourian” by the Missouri House of Representatives.  In 2010 he was the recipient of the Southeast Missouri University “Pride Award” and recently the State Historical Society of Missouri’s “Outstanding Service Award.”

As the former director of the Center for Regional history at Southeast, Dr. Nickell edited and published approximately twenty-five books about the history of Missouri and Southeast Missouri.  Dr. Nickell was born and raised on a farm in central Illinois, graduated from Eastern Illinois University, and received his Ph. D in American History from the University of New Mexico.

Mya Hewitt

Intern, Kellerman Foundation

Mya Hewitt recently joined the Kellerman Foundation as an intern from the Historic Preservation program at Southeast Missouri State University where she is a freshman. Mya is working on archiving the vast collection of Oliver family records and mementos donated to the Foundation by the Oliver family. She plans on specializing in archives and hopes to work in the St. Louis or Jefferson County areas upon graduation.
